Panasonic TM900 video playback issue

Postby leamas » 11 Aug 2011, 01:56

Hello,

I just bought an Asus O!Play HD2 device and I am very satisfied with it, with only one (although major problem). It cannot play fluently the 1080p50 from my Panasonic TM900 PAL camera. The motion is not fully smooth, seems like droping few frames or so. I updated to latest 2.02 official (yet!) firmware and I uploaded my videos to the internal HDD drive, hoping the internal CPU will be less used when reading from it than from USB drives. Does anybody have an idea about how this problem can be solved? Is the chipset simply too slow to completely handle 1080p50 28 MBit/s files? On the other side, can anything be done in the FW to "help" the CPU to only "focus" on video decoding and get rid of some unused services? Or maybe the tweaked FWs already have a speed improvement? I hope someone has an idea on how can I solve this.

Thanks in advance,
Dan
