Too many "X" in channel name error.

But seriously, how are you going to play these channels? Are you using the IPTV software? You'll have to tell a little more than just "doesn't work".

I have Pyros software installed and I'm watching all other IPTV channels normally. On VLC these channels work but on R1 is just a blank screen and a crash. It is annoying problem that I can't solve, it has no logic to it. All other channels from this server work, all but this, and there is no explanation.

VLC has a menu entry for you to check the codec of the video/channel.
Try to check if the ones working have the same codec of the ones not working.
Maybe they're different and the code in use on the ones that don't work is not supported.
You can also try 3 kinds of streaming decoder in IPTVxtra: flvstream and rtmpdump 2.3 and 2.4.
Try using other decoder ;)

Simple.
Open the stream in VLC.
Then press CTRL-J.
Now look for the video stream and post here the name of the video stream codec name.
Do this for streams that work and for streams that don't work.
Try to find a pattern. For instance, check if all the non-working streams have AVC video codec.
Now check if any of the working streams have AVC codec.
If the first is true and the second is false, then maybe AMP can't decode AVC video streams. Who knows... :?
Just a guess.

Sample rate: 32000 Hz

One that work:

Video:
Original ID: 69
Codec: H264 - MPEG-4 AVC (part 10) (h264)
Resolution: 720x576
Frame rate: 50
Audio:
Original ID: 68
Codec: MPEG AAC Audio (mp4a)

Ok, how to fix it?

Will there be any new types of codec in new FW?

When I 1st heard of Asus O!play everybody was saying that it was open source and future-proof because of that.
Now I see that this is not exactly true.
Guess one of these days I'll build a small PC to run XBMC under Linux and I'll keep my small low power consumption Seagate Dockstar to use as a backend (DVB-S/S2/T/T2).

In theory this is correct ("open source and future-proof") but someone has to do it. With other devices or classes of devices there have been whole replacement firmwares like OpenWRT for routers or Freetz for Fritzbox. I guess it would be possible to incorporate new codecs if one would write a completely new firmware. Considering that FarVoice and others have done a remarkeably good job with moServices and porting adapted firmwares of other devices to the Asus Oplay, it still is true that these are not complete firmwares build from scratch.
