Honestly never tried to install back the official firmware.
But, yeah, I'd say that the procedure of "FW on the usb + power off + power on" should work.
EDIT: actually it is "put the FW on the usb connected to your player + power off + press and hold the reset button + power on + release the reset button when the media player says that the upgrade is about to start".
But maybe I'm wrong. :?

To establish through "button reset" only
firmware for hdp r3 out-of-date, also there is no signature
марсы: HDS7 (смотрелка AMP скин vrt )
HDR12 AMP (обычно сервер с RAM 256 и 2 SATA диска 2T+)//но очень иногда оцифровка видео
XTR PRO(AMP, HTTP(S) NFS SMB FTP сервер +trans2.90 + 2 SATA диска 2T+
сатурны: XTR Prodigy, R6S(512Mb_NAND), HD900A(_MD*) прошивка

Thanks virtual.

@cimmi69,
Just out of curiosity, why did you go back to the original FW?
As far as I can see, there's only one small glitch in the modded FW. The small LED on the front plate of the player lights the red and blue at the same time.
Other than that, the modded FW is as stable as the original and it has so many more features...

First of all, thanks to all contributing and maintaining this site. Great Job!

Regarding this subject, I had problems with this instructions on my HD2 when trying to install amp_r8. I probably did something wrong and I got stuck with a permanent “Preparing for update. It takes a few seconds”.
I had a link to this post and tried with no success. What actually rescued me was the emergency instructions from the manufacturer included in the PDF coming with all FW updates. To help someone who may end up in the same situation I got into, here they are:
With the FW on a USB pen inserted in the slot...
Please follow the steps below:
1. While pressing the reset button, Disconnect DC plug. Wait 5 seconds.
2. Reconnect DC plug of the Power adapter.
3.The message will be displayed on the screen as “Preparing for update. It takes a few seconds”
4. The Media Player will re-upgrade automatically. Repeat the procedure Until the upgrade has been successfully finished.

If the firmware cannot be upgraded with the Safe Mode. it means that either incorrect firmware or problems with the USB Flash Stick. ( Replace it & re-download )

The difference is very small, it is just that the reset button is not depressed when we reconnect the DC plug. But it saved my day and now have amp_r8 in my HD2!
This procedure is also recommended for someone that lost power while upgrading.
Hope it helps someone...
O!play HD2 amp_r8_pohd, original O!play RC. Thanks!

For me, the main reason to uninstall is, all my files are in Chinese character. These new firmware can't display them.

Didn't know about that.
Have you mentioned that to Farvoice?
Maybe he knows some way to add Chinese chars... :?

Hmm... pohd skin support UTF8 filename and it should be to show filenames correctly.... After plug device try to restart remount module on web interface or on RSS Services.
