No, this is not true for devices like SKYVISION R/RW PLAYER, SHOCKWAVE S1 DVD RECORDER or TRIOTEC R/RW PLAYER (any name, any folder on disc).
But this is cd/dvd players, dont know for media players.
This is huge mistake by Asus, because any title must be check in pc, than chose right one, name it etc.
Imagine what job is it for 22 episode of some series.

Does older FM 2.0 or that alternative FM have that function, diferent name-any folder ?

Thanks for quick response.

Best regards !

I hope, that tis topic is no fully dead... I have a dilema. My front USB not working. When I insert USB flash drive to a rear USB/eSata connector and try to update by the reset I only get the message on tv screen that it is preparing to update and... nothing else happens. I conclude that the update through the rear connector not possible. It's true? And what about the sdcard ? Can I update this way? I don't want brick my player...

Try flash from SATA disk. Maybe USB ports are dead.

No, rear USB/eSata is good, player reading and playing everything from flash drive or USB HDD. Only front USB is dead...

By the way, I would ask for one more piece of advice: a link to the firmware for IconBit HD Movie LE

Done and... nothing. But... Maybe my custom firmware for first update (yours instructions from first post) is wrong. It is Mini Plus 04.00.01 firmware update form Asustek support (the newest one) http://support.asus.com/Download.aspx?S ... s&p=19&s=9. Suggest which version will be the best...
