web enable device to browse and select media

My goal is to use an Itouch/web enable device to browse and select media via cover art without the use the oplay remote.

I am able to do this via the media stream renderer. The problem with this is we still have to naviage to the media stream renderer on the oplay via the remote.

Is there any way to have the media stream renderer start by default when powered on or coming out of standby mode?
Is there a way to start the renderer via telnet/ssh commad promt?

What would be better would be a telnet/ssh command to start a movie, but I have not been able to figure out how to do this.
