Upgrade bootcode

Re: Upgrade bootcode

Hi there,
I just opened my hdp-r1 to look for the serial-connector. The only thing that looks like a connector are 4 pins [J6 (3.3VD, GND, TX, RX)]. When I google usb-to-serial I only find those old 8-pins-something-serial. As I am not ready to assemble my own cable (described here: http://minimodding.com/tiki-view_blog_p ... al%20cable), I want to buy one.

Could someone please post a link to some webshop where I can order a usb-to-serial-cable fit to work with my Asus HDP-R1.

Thanks in advance

Nice that some1 found my TTL adventure :)

Also made a firmware with youtube, metafeeds and more.

Also added a script that anyone can use to make their own firmware

No way:) You must have USB-to-Serial cable with TTL signal levels. Best choice is the cellphone cable like Nokian CA-42

yes, but i don't know the IP for the oplay, so i can't access the device. I'm not into the network thing. my PC is in the 192.168.1.x range and i believe the oplay doesn't. i also don't know how to see what ip the oplay currently has.

Change your network to 192.168.0.x and try to connect to player by 192.168.0.9 Estimate 5-10 sec after reboot it's accessible on this IP
If you can connected, entry command stopall, and then
Code: Select all
echo /mnt/usbmounts/sda1/install.img > /tmp/installing_source
echo install >> /tmp/installing_source
kill -6 1
