Beta from HD2 - for englishmen

I gave up and went back to my previous modded FW. There were many problems with HD2 FW (atleast for me)

1. FTP/Samba issue: Samba didn't work at all (or atleast I don't know what else I should do once I enable it in the NAS). Before I enabled the SAMBA, the ftp was working fine, the website listed SAMBA server is off. Once I enabled it, the SAMBA server page and home page is blank, the server is not found in the network. Going back to FTP screwed FTP as well. After I fixed the folder problem, I got "ftp" user not found error.
2. USB/E-SATA problem: My drive connected to ESATA was working fine until I plugged in USB. First, the USB was not recognized. After few try and unplugged the e-sata connection, USB was recognized. But now, esata drive doesn't show up in the list after hooking it up again. I tried hard powering off both the drive and the oplay, checked the connection etc. Spent a good 10 minutes trying all options but still esata drive is not recognized.
3. File Copy: Did I miss this option in new FW? I looked everywhere but couldn't find this option. It is not there in the File Manager menu. I use it a lot (USB key -> esata HD) to move files.

I really liked the Thumbnail feature in the new FW (looking at the screenshots). That is the only reason why I decided to take the chance. But after going thro' all these issues, I realized it is not worth at least for now to upgrade to HD2. It seems, as usual, Asus has delivered a crappy/crippled software. I am going to wait for few more releases before I take the plunge again.

FarVoice, you are doing a commanding job. I have bookmarked this site and going to check it very often.

I tried HD2 beta (on O!Play R1) and went back to 1.33 too soon. Yesterday I gave HD2 beta a second chance and I can say I won't go back for a while. I have no critical issues with HD2 beta. I like:
1. New GUI
2. Faster acces to the file as I can play it immediately without wait a seconds for a preview start
3. Youtube and internet services work
4. New on screen keyboard with memory collumns
I would like to:
1. Version with Czech language working
2. Pause button working when internet TV is watching. That could solve problems with sound in Asus FWs. Pause and Play and sound was O.K. Now in HD2 beta pause button turns the play icon on screen and nothing else.
3. Sorting all movies files A-Z no matter DVD or avi. Now there are DVDs A-Z and below avis A-Z. I can use File manager instead of Movie from a menu and it is O.K. but I have to do 2 more clicks to play DVD folder.

One question to Farvoice: I use your package of services with HD2 beta on R1. Can I manage it through the web as I used to do with 1.33? When I go to http://Oplay IP/www/ I get a remote control page.

Anyway for me is HD2 beta more fun to do with and I would like to thank Jarre and Farvoice for your great job!!!

This one "oplay_SDK4b1.10.03".

Try original image from Jarre

But in your shoes I'd be careful - the original firmware for the HD2 Asus has not yet given, and in the case of a failed flashing you risk being left with a brick!

To Jon Jon:
I don't think that it's "the best FW for this code", but it's only one possible way to install this FW from HD2 to your device.
Asus O!Play R1 (amp, vrt), xTreamer Pro (amp, vrt), Iconbit 7L(amp, vrt), Iconbit 12L(amp, vrt/12l), Iconbit 1003(3Dgui)

First at all thanks Jarre and Farvoice for your great job!
I installed your FW Farvoice, because I have bootcode 17.
Everything works nice, only I missing the filecopy/delete function from filemanager, but I can leave without it using ftp.
I also missing the metafeeds, can be activated somehow?
