No IPTV channel works

No IPTV channel works

Postby zehawk » 30 Jul 2013, 18:00

Using the latest firmware as in my signature, updated all the packages. Youtube is working excellent, but none of the IPTV channels work. Keep getting "cannot play this file". I've tried with all the skins, all have same behavior.

Anyone has a clue? Or can provide some guidance on what I could debug?

Same happens to me.
I guess those IPTV streams are locked geographically or something.
But it works fine with my own IPTV streams. So the IPTVList plugin is working fine.
If you know some Flash sites, it is usually easy to grab their streams and play them on your media player.
Just use any of these http://www.moservices.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=1659
Cheers

I have same problem. None of them works. I then put one URL to the list which was proved working on my PC, it still won't play. Any idea?

@msnews.
It works.
Can you tell us what iptv stream you tested?
Later today I may find time to post a couple of working streams.

Hello...
I also can't get any channel to play :(
I installed the moServices Manager over the most recent firmware on HDR3 and all i get from the TV "favorite channels" is "cannot play this file". By default a Russian channel is on the list (and it works on pc) and it gives the same result.
Don't have much experience on this so all help is welcomed
thanx

@luisr1,
Did you install AMP r11 and IPTVList 1.5 module?
Forget the Favorite Channels. None of them work.
You'll have to test a channel that you know it's working on your PC.

@ john3voltas
thanks for answering :)
i tried to install ampr11 from viewtopic.php?t=1030 but got an error saying something like "this image in not for this board"... Am i installing the correct one? Just found this work around that i will try later http://www.asus.com/Multimedia/OPlay_Air/#support_Knowledge_679DA96A-C4F2-5B36-2FC9-05313CA40446
From the Asus O!Play moServices Manager I installed TVStation list to edit channels, but i am now under the impression that i'm missing IPTVList 1.5 module :?
Where/how do i get it?...

For me most of the channels already on the asus work. The ones i add through the manager go to the "favorites" folder but they don't work (they do work on pc).

Thanks again mate

I don't know TVStations. That must be very old or it might come with the official firmwares.
You need to install AMP if you want to install IPTVList.
AMP is an unofficial firmware created by farvoice.
Go to this topic -> viewtopic.php?f=12&t=1030
Browse to the end of the first post. You will find "UPD 13/08/17 release r11".
Choose the iconbit skin to start -> http://moservices.googlecode.com/files/amp_r11_icon.zip
Check your bootcode version before doing the rest!!! -> viewtopic.php?f=12&t=98
Download that file and extract it to a usb pendisk formated with FAT filesystem.
Put the pendisk on the player.
Disconnect the power cord from the back of the player.
Press and hold gently the reset button.
While still pressing the reset button, connect the power cord back on the player.
The player will start installing AMP. You can now release the reset button.
The player will restart. Be ready to find a completely new player :D

Will do when i get home tonight... fingers crossed

side question (maybe new post ?):

Acestream is getting better each day. I've managed to pass the stream from the pc to my ipad so i can watch sports comfortably on the couch 8-)
http://forum.wiziwig.eu/threads/81442-Tutorial-How-to-pass-on-an-AceStream-stream-to-an-external-device

All i have to do is open the url "http://localhost:8902/tv.asf" (on local host i put my ip) and watch.
Should be possible on asus also, right?

again... thanks for your help

Is it? I don't find it so good.
Image quality is good but it keeps hanging all the time.

Yep, I use that on my Asus all the time.

ACEStream Player
- CTRL+P (preferences)
- Show Settings - All
- Stream Output > Default Stream Output Chain > #duplicate{dst="http{mux=ts,dst=:8902/tv.asf}"}

ASUS
- Install IPTVList
- add a playlist (m3u) with http://ip_of_the_pc_with_acestream_play ... 902/tv.asf

Easypeasy.
Only issue is, when ACEStream cache gets low, Asus player doesn't wait for ACEStream to fill the cache again. It simply closes the streaming :(
That and all the breaking and freezing that I get on ACEStream :(
