AMP R7 strange network behaviour

Postby alfaromeo » 07 Feb 2012, 00:30

Hi all , just a question , i noticed that:

When i power up the player it connect via wifi to the router , and it is reachable via telnet , via browser , via ftp. After some minutes of inactivity it still connected to the router and to internet , but is no more reachable from the other computer on the network. Any idea ?

I know it isn't a R7 solution, but the only thing I would suggest is to put R8 on the device. I've found a lot of networking issues were resolved for me with this release.

hi,
i hafe sort of the same problem (amp_r8_dh2):

- the players wifi setup says "wifi: on" but it has no connection at all and the connection test sais "failed"
- the players network info says 169.254.121.183 / 255.255.0.0 for wifi
- the player appears on my router with a typical ip (192.168.1.xxx lets say .13) with the correct mac adress
- the player is not visible in my network, when i ping 192.168.1.13 from my laptop it says "no answer from 192.168.1.206", which is my android (dont know why he sais that when i ping .13 !?) and ping statistics for .13: 4 send, 4 recieved, 0 losed

can anybody help me with this?

Hi,

so some how the wifi problem is solved. with the samba daemon and the pshare upnp daemon installed, i can see the player in the lan and could browse its medialybrary from an other player.
but still the dlna/upnp renderer does not work properly: some times i can see it and stream music to it but most of the time its not there. i could not figure out what makes it (dis-)appear. a reboot does not help.

does anybody have some experience using the r3 as a dlna renderer? do i have to istall some daemon/patch to get it runing?
