Mounting WebDAV possible?

Mounting WebDAV possible?

Postby kretek » 04 Mar 2011, 01:40

Hi once more,

maybe I'm dumb :ugeek: but I was wondering:
Is it possible to mount a WebDAV-drive containing media files?
If so, how do I do that?

Thanks in advance!

OK... Maybe it works this way:

My provider told me how to mount under linux:

The address for manual installation is
//myusername.cifs.hidrive.strato.com/root
I need myusername and mypassword to connect, of course. The filesystem I should use for mounting is cifs.

I've tried the following via your web interface:

Code: Select all
Add/Edit mount point
Mount point       : /tmp/ramfs/volumes/mymount
Device(Address)   : //myusername.cifs.hidrive.strato.com/root
File system       : cifs

... and this is what happens:
mount: Mounting //myusername.cifs.hidrive.strato.com/root on /tmp/ramfs/volumes/mymount failed: Invalid argument

Yes, I did replace myusername with my actual user name ;-)

Any help? What am I doing wrong?

Hi there,

different approach.

I've got a USB-HDD attached to my Fritz!Box running in the same network as the Asus O!Play. I've got media on
//192.168.2.2/fritz.nas/SAMSUNG-HN-M750MBB-01/FRITZ/mediabox that I want to playback on the Asus.
I have no problems accessing the path via the network menu entry. I am also able to mount the device, but only the portion
//192.168.2.2/fritz.nas
anything behind that fails to mount:
Code: Select all
mount: Mounting //192.168.2.2/fritz.nas/samsung-hn-m750mbb-01 on /tmp/ramfs/volumes/FritzVideos failed: No such device or address

The file system is cifs, I've provided username and passwd, and iocharset is set to utf8. Any ideas?
