Videos from HD camera stutter when played in AMP

I have a Panasonic 14MP camera that takes pictures but that can also record 720p video files.
Those files have issues when played back on my HDP-R1. The video looks in very bad shape and it stutters a lot (not fluid motion).
Here is what MediaInfo says about those files:

Apparently it's a Quicktime MOV file with MJPEG video and TWOS audio.
What the hell is TWOS codec anyway lol? :D
Anybody has a clue?
How could I demux a MOV file under Linux so that I can mux it back as a MKV (just in case it is an issue with MOV files)?
Cheers
